Can you withdraw Steam Wallet funds?

Steam Wallet is a balance for purchases within Steam, not a bank account. Selling an item on the Community Market adds wallet credit. That sale does not make the balance available for direct withdrawal.
Understand the difference between Steam Wallet credit, a refund and selling an eligible item elsewhere. Avoid services promising guaranteed wallet withdrawals.
A refund is different from a withdrawal
Refund eligibility depends on the purchase and Steam’s current refund rules. Where a purchase qualifies, the available refund destination is determined by Steam and the payment method. Do not assume that an old wallet balance or proceeds from an item sale can be refunded as if they were a recent eligible purchase.
Check the transaction inside your own Steam purchase history and use the official help flow. Avoid people offering to convert a wallet balance through gifts, account sharing or a supposedly special support contact. A genuine support process does not require sending an item to a stranger for verification.
Selling an item elsewhere is a separate transaction
Some people buy an eligible item and later sell it on an external cash market. That is not a Steam withdrawal feature: it creates a new purchase and a new sale, with their own restrictions, price changes, fees and counterparty risk. There may be a wait before the item can be transferred.
Calculate the possible net outcome before committing. Include the difference between Steam and cash-market prices, purchase and sale charges, currency conversion and withdrawal conditions. A large Steam listing value does not guarantee an equivalent cash amount. If a service asks for an advance payment to release a withdrawal, or promises a guaranteed conversion with no loss, stop and verify its claims independently.
Frequently asked questions
Does selling a skin on Steam pay cash?
No. It credits Steam Wallet. An external cash sale is a different transaction outside the Community Market.
Is an item-based conversion guaranteed?
No. Prices can change, restrictions may delay the transfer and an external service may charge fees or impose withdrawal conditions.
